Are you using Twitter everyday? If so it pays to know what will happen to your account when you die. Currently Twitter will only leave the account of the deceased as is or close it.
You need to contact Twitter about a deceased family member’s account.
According to them:
“In the event of the death of a Twitter user, we can work with a person authorized to act on behalf of the estate, or with a verified immediate family member of the deceased to have an account deactivated.”
It is important to have in mind that Twitter is unable to provide account access to anyone regardless of their relationship to the deceased.
What if the user is not deceased, but incapacitated.
The exact statement from Twitter is:
“In the event a Twitter user is incapacitated, due to medical or other reasons, we can work with a person authorized to act on the behalf of the user to have an account deactivated.”
